Your Hosts

Brian

Brian is an artist, father and entrepreneur who is passionate about Yoga and it's ability to transform people's lives, as it did his. While practicing martial arts as a teenager Brian connected with breath & movement but even after years of attempting had little success meditating. It wasn't until he discovered the Nath's tantric, mantra based meditation that it finally clicked. Ever since his first time  he hasn't stopped chanting. While living in the jungles of Costa Rica, studying with world class teachers and nourishing his mind body and soul at The Sanctuary at Two Rivers, Brian received his 200hr RYT from the Lakshmi Rising School of Yoga.

If your looking for a dynamic spiritual flow that emphasizes the importance of connecting breath and movement visit one of his classes.

Luana

Luana is a passionate Yoga instructor and student with 7 years experience teaching Hatha Yoga and Vinyasa in different countries of the world. So many passions filled her life with joy, such as traveling, creating new healthy food recipes, helping people to be more connected with their bodies on a conscious way, writing about her experiences in the Yoga path, and of course, teaching.

Luana is a practitioner and student of Ashtanga Yoga and Iyengar Yoga.

Movement, expression and health are three words that can define her. From Contemporary Dance to Pilates instructor, from Ayurvedic Therapist to Health Coach, from traveler to a yoga devoted soul.

Love is her flame, consciousness and freedom is her path.

Meals at the Sanctuary

A Fixed Menu and Meal Times (9am, 2pm, 7pm) with 3 Daily Gourmet Vegetarian or Vegan Meals. Kitchen opens at 6:30am for self-serve coffee/tea and closes at 8:00pm.

Artistic-gourmet vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free cuisine comprises one of the pillars which supports, nourishes, detoxes, and cleanses you during the Yoga Retreat.

The Sanctuary at Two Rivers' talented plant-based chef creates three unforgettable Tropical Fusion vegetarian or vegan meals per day inspired by the world’s greatest cuisines. The healthy organic food is artistically crafted to please all of the senses. Meals are designed around the seasons using Ayurvedic principles while incorporating the best and freshest local ingredients, herbs and spices. They procure and serve all organic produce from local Costa Rican family farms. Their meals are well balanced and prepared with love. This positive energy is infused into the food, aiding the digestion process.

They provide plenty of protein by using legumes, seeds and nuts, artisan cheeses, and eggs from free-ranging chickens. For food preparation only whole grains and natural sweeteners are used. With an ever-expanding orchard of over 300 various tropical fruit trees, their freshly picked organic fruits make great complements to your dining experience. Overall, this will produce a more lively healthy body and mind and is the most environmentally friendly diet.

How to arrive

It is very easy to get to The Sanctuary at Two Rivers with a 25 minute flight from San Jose International Airport to Tambor Airstrip where a taxi will drive you through the famous Nicoya Peninsula Blue Zone to this Yoga Retreat Center. All guests must arrive at The Sanctuary no later than 4:00 pm on arrival day; please schedule your travel accordingly.

Flying In and Out of Costa Rica at San Jose International Airport
San Jose International Airport (SJO) is the most convenient airport to The Sanctuary. Frequent international flights are available at this modern airport.

For your travel, plan at least two hours between local air and international travel.
IMPORTANT: There is a departure tax of approximately $28 at San Jose International Airport when you leave Costa Rica.

By Local Air to Tambor, then by Taxi to The Sanctuary at Two Rivers
Two local airlines offer scheduled flights and charter services to Tambor Airstrip. The flight time is 25 minutes. Check for flights on either Sansa Airlines www.flysansa.com which is a 5 minute walk from the exit of the International Airport or Nature Air www.natureair.com which now departs from inside the International Airport terminal but you must clear Immigration and Customs first and then re-enter the building upstairs and check-in at their counter.

Please allow at least 1.5 hours from your International arrival time in order to clear Immigration and Customs and to check-in for the Domestic flight.

By Land to The Sanctuary
An option to flying, we can prearrange land transportation (shuttle bus for a group or private taxi for individuals) from San Jose directly to The Sanctuary via roads and a ferry that crosses Nicoya Bay to the Nicoya Peninsula. This might be economical for a large group and is approx. 5 hours. Prices start at $260.

Individuals can book their own shuttle through Montezuma Expeditions or Tropical Tours for approx. $50. Shuttles leave San Jose early every morning and will bring you directly to The Sanctuary. This is about a 6 hour trip.

We do not recommend renting a car.
