Luana Fara

"Yoga has become my medicine, my profession and also the mirror of my own self."

"The process of self-discovering in my life has been transformed since I started practicing yoga with more devotion, and not because yoga itself has changed my life, but because it has been a new starting point. The practice is just the vehicle, but the real experience is more subtle, it arises from the internal journey itself. 

 

I have been through a versatile journey that has turned into the path of Yoga. I have dedicated the latest years of my life to this practice: learning, teaching, sharing and living it from different perspectives.

 

Before Yoga arrived to my life, I’ve studied Contemporary Dance and worked for some years as a dance teacher, choreographer and performer. I also studied holistic therapies, moment on which I have been first introduced to yoga.

 

I have studied with different teachers from around the world, and I also have taught workshops and classes in different countries, which reflects my passion for traveling, however, India is the place that has kept my heart. 

I have been certified as Hatha Yoga Teacher, Pilates Instructor, Ayurvedic Therapist and Integrative Health Coach, however, I also have studied, Anusara®, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Acro yoga, Thai Massage and Meditation.

 

About my style of teaching, I can say is very diverse and dynamic. My daily practice is Ashtanga. However, I complement it with the healthy alignments of the Iyengar tradition, and with the freedom of expression of dance flow, reason why my style of teaching is not about one method but about the smart combination of all the experiences I have added to my life. 

 

This journey represents for me the possibility of learning how to recognize my “True Self” and the “Infinite Universal Oneness,” in which I believe all of us are united.

 

I animately believe that through Yoga it is possible to transcend the state of suffering in which we have been taught to live, and this inspires me to keep seeking for the expansion of the consciousness.

  • 8 a.m. Morning Pranayamas and Chanting (45 min)
    Breath-work exercises and Meditation with Mantra chanting

  • 9 a.m. Morning Yoga (1 h)
    Yoga Asana class for all levels for awakening the spine 

  • 11:30 a.m. Shift your Life Workshop (1,5 h)
    Check the different topics per day on the detailed program

  • 6:30 p.m. Slow Yoga (1 h)
    Slow flow Yoga Class for relaxing and stretching the body

  • 7:30 p.m. Evening Meditation (45 min)
    Yoga Nidra, Meditation and Restorative Sequences to preparing the body and mind for a great resting time

MONDAY

The Magical Power of the Breath

We will work on developing awareness of the breath and learning exercises to start breathing on the proper way in order to manage emotions and states of stress and anxiety. You will understand how the breath impacts the overall health of the nervous system and as a consequence the functioning of all the organs, specially the gastrointestinal functions and the dreaming cycles.

 

TUESDAY 

Deconstructing Cravings

During this session we will work with information and tools that will lead you to understand the different roots associated with your cravings, and also being able to read between lines what is your body trying to say through the cravings so you can work on the roots (physical or emotional) instead of repressing yourself. At the end of this session you will have the tools (including recipes) to start developing new healthy habits so you can replace those ones that are not contributing to your health. Learn mindful eating techniques.

 

WEDNESDAY

What is it about Sugar?

Most of us wonder how much sugar is it ok to be consumed… Understand the answer to this question and how does the sugar behaves in your body so you can decide by yourself how much sugar to consume. Learn different ways to replace sugar and reduce the need of it. Learn simple and healthy recipes that can contribute to reduce the consumption of sugar in your daily life.

 

THURSDAY

Reducing Inflammation… becoming healthier

Understand how modern diseases are related with inflammation states. Learn how through simple habit changes you can prevent the consequences of chronic inflammation on the body. Learn which foods you can include in your diet so you can empower your immune system. Understand how small changes like having proper sleep can contribute to big changes in your overall wellbeing.

 

FRIDAY

Creating your Dreams- take control of your life. Part 1

Now that you have understood some important aspects of health to transform your diet and basic habits like the sleeping patterns, breathing and the awareness of your emotions, start to taking control of this transformation and create the life you dream to live. Through simple tools identify which are those things that you are passionated about and learn to prioritize them. The information and exercises we are going to share in this part of the program will allow you to plan how to live an overall healthier and specially happier life. This workshop will be divided into 2 parts (one day each part)
